Carrying on from my moaning about TV camera directors, what about television cooks?Such a smug bloody lot. Why don't they wear proper hygienic clothing anymore? They slop around with sloppy old jumpers and sweaters, sleeves trailing in the food they are preparing, licking their fingers. They used to look so smart in their whites, and whats more, they looked PROFFESIONAL. All that seems to have gone, now, they are more concerned with being artistic? Twiddling about with bits of lettuce, and drizzeling, DRIZZELING if you like!
And while I'm at it, I'm sick of certain television celebrities mangling the English language, using what is commonly known as the glottal stop; Celebri-ies (celebrities)
wri-ers (writers) imita-ers (imitaters). Come on Lauren Laverne, please don't fall for that non-trend.
Then there's the other thing, substituting the letter r for the letter w. Lor for law. Sor for saw...I sor him, sawring a piece of wood. I heard one eminent music commentator say 'the Artie ShawRorchestra'.
